Hear Future Get 'Real' With Drake and 'Wake Up' With Ciara

"I wanna do something else, to do it another way," Future told SPIN's Julianne Escobedo Shepherd in an interview posted today. Though he collaborates with other artists in a bevy of new tracks to emerge in recent days, the rapper and singer continues to inhabit a planet all his own. His strobe-synthed team-up with fellow rap-R&B sadsack hybrid Drake on "Fo Real" takes champagne-soaked melancholy into ever-stranger territory. His co-write on Ciara's hypnotically grinding "Wake Up, No Make Up," another Mike Will production, helps make for the most promising track we've heard from the "Promise" singer since the officially unreleased the-Dream version of 2010's "Speechless."
If that's not enough, also surfacing recently from Future are the galvanizing, rap-oriented "Mark McGwire" and a no-frills video for "Whip Game," another decidedly non-R&B track featuring his Freeband Gang crew. Future'sFBG: The Movie mixtape is out tomorrow; new albumFuture Hendrix is forthcoming.
