INTERNATIONAL: Bournemouth's Ciara Lindsay
YOUNG badminton star Ciara Lindsay has been tipped for a bright future after again being selected to play on the international stage.
Bournemouth Collegiate School (BCS) sports academy member Ciara further enhanced her reputation by being picked to represent England in Denmark in April.
Coached by former Commonwealth and European gold medallist Helen Troke, she is regarded as one of the top players in the country for her age.
Ciara, who is preparing to compete in the national under-15 championships in Essex this weekend, missed out on an England international appearance in Sweden due to illness earlier this month.
However, after winning the girls Double Gold Star National Tournament, she was chosen to make the trip to Denmark later in the year.
Troke, who has coached Ciara since she was 10, told Echo Youth Sport: She is one of the best in the country for her age. She is talented.
In 2009, Ciara made history as an 11-year-old by becoming the first Dorset girl to win a national crown.
Troke is hoping she can claim more national silverware in the upcoming under-15s championships.
Troke, who runs her own aca! demy in Bournemouth, added: Ciara lost in the final last year so we are hoping to make sure she wins it this weekend.
She should do well in the doubles and the singles is wide open.
Meanwhile, five new Dorset schools county champions from the BCS community were crowned during February.
Jack MacGregor, Tom Barton-Clapp, Kaylan Jensen, Peeranut Sapniti and David Alibhai were all celebrating success.
